I tries to install this sensor but got the same messages that my old sensor gave. I tries it several time but couldn't make it work and went back to my old sensor but with new batteries and that worked. I wasn't ready to give up an this sensor and looked it over carefully, The battery didn't look quite right to me so I tried to reinsert the battery. By pushing it harder it seemed to seat better. I installed it as an additional sensor in the same location that it had failed before and it worked just fine. I deleted it from my sensor list and put it away for a future installation. I now believe it was always OK and I just didn't have the battery installed correctly. When I need it in the future, I'm sure it will work just fine now that I know about the battery seating problem I had.

It may be a little old-fashioned in appearance and the battery may be an oddball, but it works great and at a respectable distance. I am using it to monitor a shed door across the street from our house and it works just fine.

These sensors are great! Easy to program into my GE Simon 2 control panel. Worth the price.

It did not work for me. According to the alarm company it has something to do with the color of the capacitor. Kept giving me random "open window" readings. I ended up buying a new one from the alarm company.
