I seen this as a child going to a Catholic School. We had several of our Sister, who had went overseas to the poor countries and we had several who came out of the convent. After seeing this movie and reading the real story in the book, I now understand why so many of the Nuns left the Order. The movie was a musical, which I love. It was a great story with a great plot. I have it on VHS and DVD because in my lifetime of 54 years, I have seen things go to reel to reel, 8 Track, Larger Disc, VHS, Cassette, DVD, and I probably didn't have the money to buy or look at anything until after High School. Being the last of nine children, I worked all my life from the time I could pull a wagon and go get groceries for the neighbors. But we were never hungry, because Dad worked for the L&N and was on the road until he got sick in my Junior year of High School. But the Catholic Churches were really pushing for Nuns, offering College Degrees and giving you 8 years to make your Final Vows or make up your mind and most left. Was making lots of money for the poor thru music wrong like the Catholic Church thought? See the film for yourself and see if it doesn't stay in your heart just like The Sound of Music does. If you like Musicals, this is a must for any collection.Read full review
After watching the movie about a third into it snow started showing up in the movie. I checked my machine cleaned the heads. And played the movie again and it was the movie that had the snow in it not my VCR.

I received it in perfect condition and I gave it as a gift to my friend. He was very happy with it because it was really clear when he watched it. Thank you very much for living up to your word. I kind of doubt it because I haven't opened the package myself. I would give you an excellent rating!
My mother and I have fond memories of this old classic and I bought it for her for Christmas this year so she could enjoy it all over again! Debbie Reynolds is great and Ricardo Montelban was a treat.
Like very much, been wanting this VHS even since I first saw the movie. The music is wonderful. Wish the real singing nun had had a better life.
