Book in very good condition as advertised. Amazingly quick delivery which was included in the very reasonable price paid, thank you.

Wouldn't say the book was 'very good' – the spine is creased and curved badly – but it arrived in good time and is definitely readable

  • Great book

I needed something to read now there's no more Terry Pratchett. Jasper Fforde was recommended (along with Neil Gaiman, Douglas Adams and Robin Hobb). I enjoyed reading about Thursday's adventures so much that I'm now reading the second book in the series. Jasper's imagination is amazing. Creating these adventures. Then being able to get all these thoughts down in print in a fun, readable way makes me full of admiration. I think by now you can tell I'm no book reviewer! Just read the book. You'll like it if your tastes are like mine. I enjoy reading Terry Pratchett's novels. I also liked American Gods and Neverwhere. Next for reading is Assassin's Apprentice.

  • A Truly Original Mind

A brilliant concept, well thought out and superbly written, but it isn’t clever at the expense of being a right good yarn. All Fforde’s books are unique and are wonderful and I recommend them all.

  • A very unusual and excellent read for all

My book group designated the Eyre Affair for our January read after we had reread Jane Eyre for the first time since school. The Eyre Affair is amusing, weird on occasions but thought provoking. It rattles along nicely and is a really unusual read that satisfies. Certainly I would like to read more of Jasper fford's books!
