First off, this is for the stabilized version of this lens, not sure why ebay has the wrong info t=for the review. This is my second copy of this lens. First one I was forced to sell because of other financial obligations. I loved that lens! Now I found this one at an even better price, in like new condition, and it is even sharper than my first. This lens is perfect for indoor sports, concerts, theatre and performs well in less than perfect light outdoors as well. It is also a great length for portraits and performs perfectly in almost all situations. It is so sharp it is like having a bag full of prime lenses always on the camera. I shoot a 60D and will always use crop cameras due the the reach shooting wildlife. This lens is also good for close-ups of medium size less skittish wildlife such as frogs and urban squirrels. Great lens if you can find one. Sigma no longer makes them.Read full review
Great lens for the price - the 2.8 isnt super clear but it's okay for the bargain that I got!!! I love it

I've own this lens for nearly a year and have taken many photos with it for night football games and other low light events. Because it does not have OS I recommend using a tripod or monopod to help with the stabilization. Over all great bang for the buck. I would give it 5 if it had an OS system.
I really wanted to like this lens, after reading many reviews about front focussing issues I was hoping the one I bought was O.K. But it wasn't, at first the photos looked good but if you looked close or cropped them you could see the problem, also the lens has no OS and you would think sigma would put that into such a nice idea of a lens. The HSM AF is awesome but with no OS and front focussing issues this lens is a waist.
