Immediate, gripping, fast moving and very relevent to today.

The Hate U Give spells "THUG" - obvious when you see the spine. Thug is one of the stereotype names applied by outsiders to people they perceive to live in "ghetto" districts, Star and her family still live in a "poor" / "black" area but she and her brothers go to a white school in a neighbouring area - which creates both context and contrast. • Good book very informative great service too

I read this book as part of a book club and it was informative and easy to read. I like that more diverse books are published openly talking about social and racial issues
