Introduced some 80 years ago by Bausch & Lomb, the iconic Ray Ban Aviators have been made by Italian eyewear conglomorate Luxottica for the past two decades. Unlike the originals, which featured grayish green "G15" lenses, this Luxottica-made pair has polarized lenses that are more on the amber side of green. While they aren't as dark as G15 lenses, the polarization does a great job of cutting the glare and enhancing contrast in hazy conditions. While I'll always have a soft spot for the original American made Ray Bans from Bausch & Lomb, these latter day Italian-made Aviators carry on the legacy. They are premium sunglasses and usually command a premium price, so I was glad to find these at the price more affordably than most.

I couldn't even recognize on first glance but if you have original same model you will be easily distinguish the differences. #1. Under nose Ray Ban printed is mechanical forced not clear as in the original in second one. #2. Frame dimensions are different, hinges location is higher on copy. If you look under magnifying glass or high zoom you may see so many imperfections.

I have been wearing Ray Ban Aviator sunglasses for many years. Some one relieved me of a very old pair that I have owned for a long time. This new pair is just as nice as my old pair. I am sure they will last as well too. They are well made, light weight, wear well, and the price and delivery was great.

Super clear lenses with no distortion. The green lenses cut the sun's glare without actually changing the field of view's color. The polarization is a must. You're able to see directly into the water with ease due to the loss of 50% of the reflection of the sun off of the water. Great classic style & look.

The polarized Ray-Ban glasses with G-15 lenses are great at reducing glare and the green G-15 lenses are comfortable to wear and easy n the eyes. The large 62mm lenses are very good at eliminating gaps in the sides and top of the viewing area.
