Great 60s music
Excellent choice of songs from a great band all there hits plus a few more, would also recommend 66/70 that has some rare songs that you may not have heard.

The Hollies At Abbey Road 1963-1966 (EMI CD)
The early 1960's was an exciting period in the lasting progression of British bands making a worldwide impact on the music charts. Of those who were most popular on both sides of the Atlantic (the most famous being of course the Beatles and The Rolling Stones) another British band, The Hollies made their presence known with a distinctive musical style of tight harmonies, catchy melodies and good musicianship. Their creative songwriting team of Allan Clarke/Tony Hicks and Graham Nash was favorably comparable to any others of the day including Lennon & McCartney and Jagger & Richards. Thirteen early Hollies chart hits are here within this collection; the majority written by other songwriters but the gradually developing own creative Clarke/Nash/Hicks work begins to emerge (notably "Stop ... There is even a Leiber & Stoller number in this collection "Poison Ivy" which the Hollies do a more than credible version of. All in all this is a great addition to anyone's music collection who likes to hear pure, developing talent from young men who have more than lasted the test of time. How have they done it and endeared themselves as one of this country's iconic popular music groups ? By simply having creative fun, not being scared to experiment and always wanting classy musically pleasing results. The Hollies are a national treasure and it is to their eternal credit that in 2009 audiences both young and old still enjoy and appreciate their music. Thank you lads and thank god for the Hollies !! Professional recognition of their talents in the way of CBE's/MBE's and an award for outstanding contribution to popular music is well overdue. I might well start the campaign myself. i like this music of when i was young and i remeber many things of mu free time , holidays, loves and when i play this cd it is as come back in the time the moder music is very different and i prefere the nusic of mi time
