A gem of a book.
When I was younger I was fortunate enough to be in a position to learn about Raptors by a mentor in my village in South West Scotland.I had many interesting encounters with a nearly full range of these great birds, Golden Eagle, Peregrine Falcon, Merlin and Hen Harriers.This latter bird was to prove of most interest in me, and my mentor, being a close friend of Donald Watson, introduced me to him in the 1980's, which i found a great honour.My original copy of this book has seen better days as it has been returned to time and time again, and I thought it wise to purchase another copy that was in such a condition to be added to my library.The words of Mr Watson are gentle and thought provoking, however it is his high skills in painting that really will take one on a mental journey through ...
