Great way of learning
Michel Thomas's method is great for getting a natural feel for the language and learn without effort. I love to learn that way. The price of this course is very reasonable. I am learning Italian mostly in the car while travelling at work. One thing that I miss a bit, though I imagine that it is deliberate: it doesn't start off with learning things you learn ordinarily first when you learn a language, for example speaking about yourself, going shopping, I'm onto CD 4 of the introductory course and I can say quite complex things but can't go shopping yet or speak about who I am, who my friends and family are and what my house is like etc. do I am thinking of complementing this course with some other material that will teach me the basics of speaking about myself and asking others questions ... I found the course very entertaining and enlightening in what was covered and the depth of it. Because we had bought a home in Spain it was essential that we should feel at home with the locals. Now to French, with Michel Thomas. Because of all the above we were always driving through France to get to our home in Spain, but wherever we stopped in France it was always back to the same problem! The language. Une excellente méthode pour apprendre le français simple
Great way to learn basic French. Michel Thomas's method builds grammar and vocabulary logically and sympathetically. He links common English words to their French origins. I used the CD to learn some French for a holiday. Within 3 weeks I was able to have simple conversations with my B&B host and to buy everything I needed.

Michel Thomas is an excellent teacher for a beginner.
I already owned the 1st 2 CDs so knew that Michel Thomas is an excellent teacher and this method of teaching a language works. I appreciate that this full set of CDs includes a documentation CD with pdf files which includes an index of what is covered in each lesson for reference.

This is great set of CDs and the approach works well. It's up to the user to make the applications in other contexts than the specifics of the CD Pack. One problem with this kind of programme is that you learn to use the language which is great until someone speaks back. It's difficult to "hear" native speakers because of speed, accents, colloquialisms and so on. The approach needs supplementing with the sounds of local speakers in a range of environments. I think there is a talking newspaper for this very purpose.This is great set of CDs and the approach works well. It's up to the user to make the applications in other contexts than the specifics of the CD Pack.
