    This rocker switch is not a genuine replacement

    This rocker switch is not a genuine replacement for the Dometic/Electrolux fridge that uses the switch for connecting the motorhome engine alternator/rectifier voltage ( 12V dc ) from the engine to maintain fridge temperature whilst underway. The rating marker on the switch is 15 Amps at 230V ac , its then strange that is rated at 12V with no mention of what type of voltage or current rating the switch can handle, The current drawn by the switch on indicator lamp is 3 times more than an original switch so its very bright and could be over stressed and fail prematurely. Also if you use the switch whilst the motorhome engine is running, the switch contacts will be breaking a dc current to the fridge and maybe not be rated for such a dc arc. Again shortening the life of the switch contacts. I ...
