I think that this lid is thinner than the original that came with the glass container; however, it is a new Pyrex lid. And it looks exactly like the picture here. It's really nice that these lids are available. I've had the Pyrex bowl for years and the lid recently cracked. It's been used for years, so not a surprise. I'm so glad that I was able to find a new lid that fits.
