    Watch out, the new ones are different.

    Be aware that there are two versions of this capo floating around out there. The original has a larger adjustment wheel and is slightly wider overall than some of the current ones being manufactured. I prefer the original style because the larger wheel is easier to manipulate and the wider stance of the capo itself makes it sit flat on the guitar without any fiddling. And you can't count on the picture either. I bought one from a seller who's photo showed the original model but sent me the new model. In all fairness, the model number of the two versions is the same, so I'm not even sure most sellers know there is a difference, but there is. I'd rate the old model 5 stars, the new model 3 stars.     poor re-design by D'Addario

    D'Addario has replaced the Planet Waves NS capo with a newer model, not like the one pictured above. The older model was heavier and thicker and had a larger tuning wheel. I thought it was the best capo ever. By adjusting the tension on the wheel whenever you changed fret position, you could hear the guitar coming into tune with the capo tension adjustment. The newer model, while offering the same ability, is made lighter and thinner, not having as much substance. Also, the wheel is considerably smaller and just didn't feel as nice as the older model. In several of the newer model I tried, the wheel would grind while turning and also feel like it was catching or getting stuck. Hopefully, D"addario will go back to the older model.

    Planet Waves NS Capo Pro - A BETTER CAPO, BUT THERE'S A TRADE OFF!

    This is a great capo! It's made of aircraft grade aluminum so it is very light weight and sturdy and can be used with either six, or 12-string guitars. To use it, you must loosen the adjustment nut, place it on the guitar fretboard, and then tighten the micrometer adjustment nut. Removing it requires the same procedure in reverse. Using the micrometer adjustment nut allows for precise tightening of the capo. This means you only tighten it to the point that there is no string buzz and it eliminates the issue of too much pressure at various points on the fretboard, a primary cause of intonation and tuning issues with capos. Spring-type, clamp capos are MUCH quicker to change out but do not allow the user to adjust the pressure on the strings. The problem with those capos is that most apply ...

    the capo for accuracy

    I've bought and used no less than twenty capos in my 50+ years of playing guitars. Many types of capos have features I like, but when it comes to producing the most in-tune strings up the neck, this Planet Waves capo works best. No, it doesn't clamp on the headstock during a live gig, but you won't need to adjust your string tunings as you move up and down the neck picking frets on which to play. You have total tension control, and THAT's the secret. Don't let the simple approach fool you. This gives you your best sound.

    BEST CAPO

    I have 5 other capos Shubb, Kyser and the like. This is the best. It can get just the right tension to not detune the guitar and tight enough to solo with it on unless you are going to bend right next to it and no capo can stand that. Is very light weight and very unobtrusive. I find it very easy and fast to put on I play 12 - 16 radius necks.
