Sleeping babies
This guide book has been bought by many of my families young Mums & Dads. Each baby, now young children, quickly became sleepers through the night, happy to go to bed children. Oldest now 15!! So yes i would recommend routine from an early age, Gina Ford's book gives great guidlines as to how to achieve this. So have bought it for our youngest daughter and husband ready for their first baby this summer. Eldest daughter found it invaluable as a guide with her 3 under 2yrs old when twins arrived after their 18month old son.This guide book has been bought by many of my families young Mums & Dads. Interesting read but outdated ideas
Interesting book, Ford has very strict ideas on how to care for a young baby and they are not for everyone. The book contains detailed daily plans from newborn through weaning encouraging parents to schedule feeds and naps. The book is useful even if you are not looking for such a regimented routine as it is full of useful advice and information on how often your baby should be feeding/sleeping at each age. I bought the book as I was interested in her theories, with no intention of following the plans, and they do not fit into my lifestyle, however i'm sure they are right for some people.Interesting book, Ford has very strict ideas on how to care for a young baby and they are not for everyone. Great help at a time when you really need it.
I think this is a great book. I was given a copy when my son was a couple of months old & found that it really worked to help him into a routine & sleep through the night. It can be slightly restrictive if you follow it completley so we took out the bits that worked for our lifestyle and found that it really worked. I'm now expecting my second child and have bought a copy ready to start her on a routine from birth this time. Especially, if like me, you don't have a lot (or any) experience with babies this is a very good place to start.I think this is a great book. Given me peace of mind
So far this book has been recommended by a few nanny mates and more mothers. Nobody really "goes by the book " -meaning all of it but everyone swear of its effectiveness. I found it extremely helpful preparing for my first baby , it has given me great information and now I am prepared with peace of mind.
