Long Live ThE HuNtEr! pure excitement.Unexpected Styles and Great Drum Work
This was the finale album BLONDIE made in 1982 before reforming in 1998 with the come back hit MARIA a no.1 hit in 15 countries..and their 1999 album NO EXIT no.3. ThE HuNtEr peaked at no.9 in the UK charts with 2 singles taken from it, ISLAND OF LOST SOULS peaked no.11 with a great video of the band in pirate boats, recorded on the Isles of Scilly(off the coast of Cornwall UK) and WAR CHILD no.39. This had to be BLONDIES most unexpected album to date as it featured an unusual arrangement of different styles that were far more futuristic than the 80's media wanted them to be. The album also includes BLONDIES original version of the JAMES BOND song FOR YOUR EYES ONLY written by Debbie Harry(rejected for a ballad version by the film company and the song was later given to Sheena ... This album includes a wonderful opening track ORCHID CLUB, the drums chudder through with a great Huntress howling (Debbie)So you get the theme then? ThE HnNtEr is about Wars, War zones, lost in between conflict..escaping and survival.Its one of the albums you just have to play really loud as the drum work is incredible from Clem Burke. There is a great dance track called DANCEWAY and a moving tribute song from Debbie and Chris to John Lennon called ENGLISH BOYS. To this day Ive never stopped playing it. Also its ThE HuNtErS 3oth Anniversary this year June 2012. On their recent world tour 2010/11 Blondie performed ORCHID CLUB and they still perform WAR CHILD regularly. The album closes with the most warming and amazing vocal of Debbie singing the (Smokey Robinson cover) THE HUNTER GETS CAPTURED BY THE GAME, this is one track you will put on repeat repeat repeat! Bonus CD includes WAR CHILD 12" over 8 minutes of great drum work. Long Live ThE HuNtEr...long live BLONDIE..Glad to see theyre back with a great brand new album for 2012 PANIC OF GIRLS. Enjoy ;o)

This was the last studio album by Blondie before they split up in 1983, and includes the singles, Island Of Lost Souls and War Child. In 1994 all of Blondie's studio albums were released digitally remastered on CD with bonus tracks and this happened a second time in 2001, but the 2001 releases included not only bonus tracks but an individual expanded booklet with rare photos and new liner notes by each producer giving an insight to what was going on at the time of making the album.
