College sweethearts Tom (Steve Martin) and Kate (Bonnie Hunt) both dreamed of having a huge family and fulfilling careers. But after they had a few kids, Kate gave up her career as a sportswriter, Tom abandoned his hope of becoming the coach of their alma mater's football team, and they moved their brood from the city to the country. Now, after twelve children and a happy life in rural Illinois, Tom has been offered the chance to live his dream and coach the Stallions. No sooner does the family pack up and move to Chicago to pursue Tom's dream job than Kate's ship comes in as well; a publisher has picked up her manuscript based on her experiences raising twelve children. Of course, there's a catch. Kate has to go to New York for a few days, leaving Tom to babysit his clan. Can Tom hold it together with his kids--who didn't want to move in the first place--pulling him one way and the university pulling him the other

    Cheaper By The Dozen

    A funny look at a lovely large family and the trails of being a family with different need, wants, desires and yet also wanting to have it all. It's a story of a family being pulled apart by they different needs, yet shows the elastic(love) that really should be there to keep a family together and how to weather the rough times and also just how fortunate they are to have each others love!No matter what! Bubble gummy with a happy ending.... haaa bless 8~]

    Cheaper by the Dozen

    Nice family film! My 8 year old really enjoyed it and she liked Cheaper by the Dozen 2 even more. Lots of mischief and mayhem!

    Family comedy

    I really loved this film. It is a family comedy (with a lot of lauhgs) about a family with 12 kids (14 in total). The acting is great (as it has a lot of top actors) from the adults and children alike. There are very funny scenes, as well as heart warming ones. It is definetly recommended for family viewing. Steve Martin as the father is flawless. He is a working father with a demanding job, and he has to look after the children after his wife goes on a business trip (as she is an author). All in all it's a family comedy, which everyone (no matter the age) will love. My rating: A*

    Good Family Movie Entertainment

    Good family entertainment. Nice music soundtrack. Good comedy. My family enjoyed it. It's a story of about Tom ,(Steve Martin), and his wife sacrificing for their large family of 12 kids of various ages each with distinct personalities putting their dreams on the back burner until Tom gets an opportunity to coach a team in the city. The family relocates and various changes happen. His wife also gets an opportunity to write and juggling schedules and various conflicts arises.
