    • For beach detectorists.

      As the earlier review suggests, this is not a guide to using a metal detector on the shore; no detector recommendation, advice on settings etc. What it is, as implied by title, is advice on how to assess a beach to identify likely hot spots to detect in. This can be from physically spotting features, finding features (man made or geographical) on maps and even old names to give a clue as to what went on in the past that could produce finds and where. Some of the text is a bit superfluous but overall it's very useful. I can look at a map (current maps and old ones online)of a new beach, Google Earth it, and know exactly where I'm going to detect first. After reading this a few times it's instinctive. Actually, after writing this I might get the tidal rivers one! Not a beach metal ...
