Synopsis
No American military unit can claim as colorful and volatile a history as the Rangers, who have led the way in America's wars for well over 300 years. This book traces the Rangers from the time of Robert Rogers during the French-Indian War of the 18th century to the most recent combat operations in Iraq. With a focus on today's Army Rangers, who combine the rugged individualism of American frontiersmen with the finely honed ability to operate as a close-knit team, wreaking havoc behind enemy lines, this fascinating volume incorporates many first-hand accounts of dramatic Ranger actions by the combatants themselves., This book will provide invaluable support whether you are a newly-qualified science teacher, an experience teacher of physics who wants to extend the range of strategies and approached used, a biologist or chemist who has to teach physics, or a student training to be a teacher. Each chapter covers a broad section of the curriculum and is divided into topics. For each topic the book covers: The pupil's possible Previous knowledge A suggested Teaching sequence with activities necessary to cover the basic physics Warnings about pupils' misconceptions, common problems with individual activities and safety issues Further activities that develop the pupils' understanding of the topic Enhancement ideas that relate the science to everyday contexts and provide new ideas for experienced teachers Suggestions for using ICT This second edition reflects the latest requirement of the National Curriculum, GCSE specifications, ideas from recent curriculum development projects and the current availability of IT. This book draws on the experience of a wide range of teachers and those involved in science education. It has been produced as part of the Association for Science Education's commitment to supporting science teacher by disseminating best practice and new ideas to enhance teaching.

The book arrived very quickly and was remarkably well packaged. The condition cited, "like new", was accurate. The shipping cost was surprisingly low considering how heavy the book is. A satisfying purchase experience like this one is the primary reason I remind my husband to look for historical literature on eBay. The next time he is looking for a particular book, I will check Morebks2 first thing!

If you are on your way to Ranger school and want to be up to date on some history (until 2005) or just want to know about some of the hardest chargers of the Army, get this book. A wealth of historical information as well as details about the current war on terror.

  • Shadow Warriors by Mir Bahmanyar

Well written by one who was there in the Ranger Regiment. Good history w/o a lot of Hollywood nonsense.
