I've "worn out" several - they look used and abused, but they still function perfectly. Since they were discontinued, I continue to collect them as I find them - even had a dealer bring back 2 from Diplomat in Germany. Highest quality except that the clip eventually breaks off. For an on-the-go pocket pen these can't be beat.

Although packed carefully and shipped super-fast, the photo was fine but the frame was basically dirty and falling apart, probably from the previous owner.
