    Barber scores especially high among all American composers

    Transitional romantic to modern. The Barber is the real charm here, but the Meyer is also nice for a change of pace. No American composer has surpassed the value of Barber during the last 100 years or so. Some close by, though, might include Roger Sessions and Leo Ornstein, maybe Charles Tomlinson Griffes as well. They are all worth having in a CD collection.

    CD arrived in perfect shape. I listen to anything Hilary Hahn present to us. Her feelings for the Barber piece are so moving to me. She puts wonderful technique, intonation and style into all she plays. Excellent CD.
