Our True Story - The Jive Five
The Jive Five were one of a small number of groups to follow the peerless Dells across the tricky divide between doo wop and soul. As we can expect from an Ace release the sound quality is excellent, and the sleeve notes are extensive. We are told that in later days, reduced to a four man line up, they changed their name to the Jyve Fyve becasue promoters refused to pay up, as there were't enough of them! Their songs cover the major issues of the 1950s -the traumas of lost love, the deights of exotic dancing, and the dangers of flying saucers.
