A GREAT Read
This is a large collection of short stories of Sherlock Holmes by various authors. As is usual with any collection , some stories are better than others. At on the whole they are all uniformly of good standard. The volume is divided into sections , Holmes.s early years, the 1880.s and finally 1890.s. I enjoyed reading all of them . Some if my favourites - from the early years The Affray At The Kildale Street Club by Peter Tremayne. I loved this story , here we find a young Sherlock Holmes, still in Ireland, about to leave for University in England. He is having lunch with Mycroft, to celebrate his scholarship, at Mycroft.s exclusive club,. While there, Sherlock, sees Moriarty and Moran for the first time. Written in the canon. Holmes and Watson shine through out all these stories, no vampires or zombies in any of these ! This book was worth every penny , great quality Sherlock Holmes stories. at a fraction of the cost of a certain publishing house charging astronomical prices for their books. I purchased my book used , at just over £6 for a large volume of 26 Sherlock Holmes quality short stories. I would recommend this book to any Sherlock Holmes fan, who truly enjoys reading Sherlock Holmes in the canon. A brilliant book and a GREAT read.
