So close to being the ideal rugged handset I've been searching for.
Coming from AT&T branded Samsung dumphones, some things are severely lacking in the B2710. For instance, the "3G" or Task Switch button is missing on this platform. That means that you can no longer call up a pop-over menu that contains entries for Message/Phone/Web/Media/Games to switch/launch these applications on the fly regardless of what you're doing at the time. Using a phone that lacks this feature, I've found how important it was to my usage. Furthermore, this phone lacks a hardware "clear" key. Sounds like a minor gripe, but again, once you've become accustomed to something of that sort its quite difficult to let it go. Furthering the lack of buttons, the B2710 lacks a dedicated Camera button, despite having a decent 2MP shooter on its back (a big up from the complete lack of ... On the software side, the phone works well and isn't TOO big a hassle to set up on AT&T if you have taken down the right settings from a previous OEM handset. The biggest software issue would have to be the Alarm Clock functionality. Most semi-recent Samsung dumphones on the AT&T network have an alarm clock that allows you to choose what day the alarm will go off with a Monday through Sunday checkbox list. This allows you to say, have an alarm on Mon- Friday @ 550am and another on Sat- @ 930am. On the B2710, you're just limited to Once or Daily (all week). Pretty lame. Another strange difference is the 0 key no longer cycles T9 word suggestions, but instead functions as Space, with Up/Down on the D-Pad cycling T9 options. # now is how you cycle input modes with * being how you call up the "Symbols" menu. Odd change from what I'm used to. A final software quirk is the Camera GUI is set up for landscape shooting orientation only, and will not rotate to Portrait mode regardless of the fact that the phone has a fully functional accelerometer that is used by other things such as the Compass. Other than these above issues, the handset has very nice call and voice quality, decent camera, and great hand-feel and awesome "military" specs for waterproofing, dustproofing, and shock resistance. Not to mention the built-in GPS and flashlight (the flashlight being the only dedicated Hardware button on the phone other than Vol up/ Down). Oh, the flashlight is also a software function. You can't use the flashlight if the phone is powered off or while its booting. Minor annoyance, but again, these things stack up. So, all in all, its a very reasonably priced and comfortable tough handset. Some lacking features one would be used to coming from AT&T branded Samsung hardware kills the usability of an otherwise ideal rugged handset.

Love it. Battery life is 1 week or more! Dropped it a couple of times on concrete getting in and out of the car with no damage. Works with my ATT go-phone SIM card. I had to call ATT & get them to unlock the SIM card. The phone is unlocked when you get it. I will have to call ATT again to get the network settings for web access. This is a real good phone. It has email feature, web feature with java, sms messages, send pictures etc. But you will need to get all the settings from your carrier first. It is very smart without being classified as a smart phone, so your phone bill will be cheap! Takes a memory card and can use mp3 ring tones or standard format. Buy one if you are looking for a very durable phone with no junk on it, long battery life and low phone bill. This is better than any no ... Love it. Battery life is 1 week or more! I think that your phone protected for the purposes of tourism , etc. be sure to push, not very bulky, economical. Useful in navigation, radio, flashlight, internet. You can find and install additional software. I installed: Opera Mini 7.1.0 - browser UC Browser_01 9.2.0 - browser R-Radio 0.9.1 - online radio MapNav 4.8.0 - navigation with maps Endomondo 1.4.9 - recording tracks without maps, upload to The absence of website. Russian letters on the keyboard does not bother me. Smartphone I no longer needed. Even online radio you can listen to this phone. He ordered for the adapter with the answer to the challenge for any set of headphones 3.5 mm, holder for the phone on the handlebars, a spare battery, dynamo flashlight to recharge. Great rugged phone for voice/text.
This is a very solid phone. If you use T9 texting make sure to change the library to your language. I changed the menus to English but didn't realize there's a separate setting to change the texting library to english as well. Do not get this expecting to use the internet AT ALL. For a rock solid voice/text phone this is one you don't have to worry about dropping.

Greatest armored phone ever.
Xellent phone! Had a android touch.... I like Buttons:) No more that the touchphone unlocking it self and ringing people from my pocket... This piece is awesome ,a week on one charge is amazing. Waterproof and a exelent easy to use flashlight function. Maybe i buy another to have in stock.
