It comes with two fixing plates, only the larger of which adapts to the old existing SP-620 ceiling fixing, the other being redundant for this purpose. The are no instructions enclosed about this, but after a while the penny drops, and it is a simple job to fit it up. The Smoke alarm itself seems to have more features than the old Fireangel, so probably superior.
