    A launching pad for the DCEU which could have been made better.

    While I owned the 2-disc special edition DVD to this movie, I always wondered what the blu-ray had that the DVD didn't have? So when I put in the first blu-ray disc, I found out that it was the 2-disc special edition DVD combined. I didn't know what to expect when I put in the second blu-ray disc until I found out that it was the movie with additional behind-the-scenes within the movie. The third disc was just the DVD, which I kept even though it was a bit scratched when the item arrived because there was a security tag within the case. But I tried to 'buff' it out as best as I could though. Anyway, when it came to the movie, there were several good moments that almost made it into a blockbuster. The movie, and the franchise that spawned from it, could (if not should) have been made a lot ...

    Good Superman story remake of an original.

    Planet Krypton is doomed and Superman's parents must save him by sending him to Earth where a previous scout ship from planet Krypton had gathered data. There's no need to tell the story from there but it's acted well with Henry Cavill. He makes a good superman. This is an original story with very few changes made.

    Better on a Second Viewing

    I am very glad I made this purchase. I had seen Man of Steel once before and had mixed feelings. With a second viewing, many of the "holes" I thought I had observed upon my first viewing were actually addressed, so I can honestly say that the second viewing was much more rewarding. The movie definitely deserved a sequel, but I guess that will never happen (sadly).

    An adult Superman movie

    The rare comic book movie with adult themes of alienation, science fiction and racism. It begs the question "what is it to be human". Yes compared to the MCU it was dark and gritty, but isn't it time Superman was treated as an adult? After 50 years of super-friends type kid friendly Clark, well it was time to grow up.
