    A fantastic upgrade

    I bought this chip to replace the Core 2 Quad 2.4ghz processor that was currently in my Motherboard. It installed no problem, I did replace the cpu fan and heatsink with a bigger one as this CPU gets a bit hotter than the original one. The performance increase was noticable and I would recommend this for anyone still using a Core2Quad. My motherboard is a Gigabyte EP45. I have included a pic of the smaller fan and the size of the fan I used to replace it.

    Install and go

    Had to check for compatibility with motherboard, but it works perfectly. One testing motherboard I had to reinstall windows after BIOS reset since CPU was still recognised as previous, but this is known issue with migrating 771 chips to 775 mboards.
