Marching behind the GBA sequel (and in step with the GameCube's Battalion Wars), Dual Strike drafts the DS for service in Nintendo's anime-inspired Advance Wars brand of turn-based combat. The game presents overviews and air battles in the upper display, with ground movements and interactive tactical maps in the lower touch screen. Multiplayer warfare is supported wirelessly. A single-player campaign follows a storyline involving both new and familiar "Commanding Officer" characters, and a map editor is included for when the wars have all been won. Dual Strike also offers a real-time mode, designed to reward fast fingers and quick-thinking as well as solid strategy.

    Fantastic turn based war game

    I loved the Advance Wars series since I first played it on Gameboy Advance for its humor, challenge and just general fun. Dual Strike just adds slight upgrades to all the good things about the previous version but the two CO combat adds a whole new dimension to the strategy and interest. This is a great game and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in the Advance Wars series.

    Solid expansion to previous titles.

    This is a worthy sequel to the previous AW titles, with a new campaign, several new COs, new battle mechanics (e.g. multi-screen battles, mid-battle CO switching), and new game modes, from the tactical (see how many enemies you can destroy on a fixed budget) to the somewhat silly (a real-time drive-and-shoot game mode with no turns and semi-destructable terrain). If you enjoyed the previous Advance Wars games, or tactical/strategic turn-based combat in general, consider this a solid purchase.

    Good, but...

    Advance Wars: Dual Strike is easily my favorite game on the Nintendo DS. For this product I only have 1 issue with it and that's the fact that it's either glitched or a bootleg/fake. When the enemy team's theme starts playing (when it's their turn), their theme song is glitched and plays a different instrument. It sounds terrible and ugly. I've played the legit game multiple times before so I know what it's supposed to sound like. You can compare it to the real thing by listening to the song on YouTube. Other than that the game plays well with no problems. It works fine but the glitched music takes me out of it sometimes. If you think that'll bother you and you want the real experience, buy a legit copy because this isn't.

    Just as fun when I was younger, but more challenging now as an adult oddly.

    Played this as a kid, still love it now! 2D drawn popping bright colors. Music is ok. It's good enough for enjoyment if you like strategy games.

    Amazing buy!

    Can't believe I was able to get a copy of this amazing game. Unfortunately the second copy came a day late and was on the beat up side. Just wish I knew the condition seeing it was suppose to be a gift to a friend. Overall loving the game.
