Satisfactory repair.
I recently acquired a S/H Yaesu FT-60 hand-held amateur transceiver. The only thing missing was the dust cover for the external microphone and DC power supply. I was most surprised when I found this cover available on eBay. It arrived quickly, and then the fun began. I had hoped that I might be able to install this cover without having to disassemble the transceiver, but no such luck. Fortunately there are several videos on youTube illustrating the procedure. It merely involves removing the battery pack, the four internal screws, the knobs, which simply pull off, and the gaskets around the knobs which then expose the threaded retaining rings, which can be unscrewed and set aside. By carefully prising the front half of the case up it can be slipped over the knob shafts and removed. I ... I recently acquired a S/H Yaesu FT-60 hand-held amateur transceiver. I lubricated the securing spigot with soap, and was able to pull it through the securing hole in the case with a pair of pliers. Re-assembly only took a few minutes, and that was it, job done. Very pleased with the result, the cover is of excellent quality, and fits perfectly.
