Good covers of some classic Buddy Holly songs
I've been trying to get hold of this CD for years and could not believe the price offered on eBay. So I was very pleased to get hold of a copy which was in superb condition. On it The Hollies present their own interpretation of several great Buddy Holly songs. Some are exceptional but a few are rather disappointing. I'm not too keen on the reggae version of Peggy Sue Got Married, Buddy's original being far superior. On the contrary "Tell Me How" is a great version as are many others. So all in all it is still a very enjoyable listen if you are an enthusiast of the two.I've been trying to get hold of this CD for years and could not believe the price offered on eBay. A Great Cover Album
The Hollies one of the best best bands of the '60s and, in part, still touring now. This album of Buddy Holly covers are all given that unique Hollies sound. Being a Buddy Hooly fan there are very few good covers of his music. Everybody including the Beatles and the Rolling Stones have used Holly songs on albums and singles but they were never as good as the originals - differant but not as good - this album to my mind does not exceed the original material but gets pretty damn close. - Jim WThe Hollies one of the best best bands of the '60s and, in part, still touring now.
