I read this book years ago when I was reading a lot of Fantasy & SciFi. I have since revisited many books in that genre and been unable to finish them now that I am older and prefer more complex characters. I found myself unable to put this down and finished it within 24 hours. The story is a take on the Pandoras Box myth set in a Celtic type landscape. It takes place after the Earth has cleansed itself of destructive forces and behavior by the human race. I assume after the destruction of modern civilization - a druid locks away 7 demons in the Tower of Regrets in the middle of a barren plain. Anghara, princess of the Southern Isles unleashes them on the world again in a fit of childish temper and they massacre her entire family before they spread throughout the world. She is then given the opportunity to redeem herself by Mother Earth. Her quest is to find each of the 7 demons. I enjoyed the fact that her own duality set the wheels in motion. Her own ego caused her plight and in the first book you find out that her worst enemy is Nemesis - an incarnation of her own dark spirit. The part of her soul that opened the Tower of Regrets and will continue to dog her steps throughout the journey and try to thwart her at every turn. I highly recommend this book - it is somewhat short and a quick read but still quite good.Read full review
