This manual generally provides more detail and specifics than Chiltons manuals. I bought it because I have a '98 Jeep Cherokee and I enjoy doing my own mechanical work to my vehicles. My Haynes manuals make sure I do everything right the first time. It contains important specs like spark plug gap, engine oil type, A/C system charge, light bulb types and cylinder compression levels.
Bought for basic repair of a 2001 Cherokee. Typical haynes maual covers most all repairs however specific model year changes are sometimes missing or given a broad brush treatment. The statement "based on a complete teardown and rebuild" is somewhat misleading - true if you have enough mechanical knowledge to adapt what is shown to your soecific vehicle. However in conjunction with answers on the net (forums) and considering the price it is a good starting place
Just what I needed.

I decided to by this book when I was told that my evaporator core for my A/C had a leak, and the dash board needed to be removed to change it. The total bill would be $1000.00. I just can't afford that these days. I'm going to fix it on my own for $300.00, with the help of a friend. The job doesn't look as scary as the mechanics at the shop made it sound.

I like the fact I can learn about repairs for my vehicle. My dislikes are that it covers several year models and it is not always evedant which year model I am looking at.
