I inherited a couple of bikes with Di2. One had been disassembled and I couldn’t get the plug connections to ‘click’’ so no life at all in the Di2. A good clean of the plugs and sockets with a cotton bud and bike cleaner and the Shimano tool did the trick.

I had bought this thinking it was vital to set up Di2, but it’s not really. It is, however, very handy for connecting the wires into a junction box when other wires are in close proximity. And for less than a fiver no real issue about cost.

You've got to have it to insert those very expensive di2 Cables with their Shimano specific connectors reliably, but the price is extortionate for a piece of plastic. Still it does the job easily.
