The new AF Zoom 28 - 100mm f/3.5 - 5.6 (D) is also a versatile tool for close-up photography. With a minimum focus distance of 18.9 inches at all focal lengths, it allows a maximum magnification of 1/4.With ten elements in eight groups, the AF Zoom 28 - 100mm (D) employs one aspheric lens element to combat distortion and aberrations and create beautiful images. The new lens utilizes a circular aperture to give a natural appearance to specular highlights in out of focus background areas.The lens' built-in distance encoder allows the use of the highly accurate ADI (Advanced Distance Integration) flash metering designed to ensure accurate flash exposures when used with the Maxxum 7, Maxxum 5, Maxxum 4, and Maxxum 3 Single-Lens Reflex (SLR) cameras and the Minolta Maxxum Flash 3600HS (D) and 5600HS (D) flash units.

    There were only aeventeen cameras not twentyfive. I was originally sending to an associate in Utah, but then changed it to a destination in the same state as the seller and they still charged me the same rate.$65 to ship a box across the state which enedup with broken product in more pieces than pictured due to such poor packaging. Not willing to work with me on the shipping or the poor packaging. Will never purchase from these people again. Buyer beware

    works better than my sony lens

    this lens although does not go as wide as my sony18-70[kit]lens, does have higher zoom power and works flawlessly and in my opinion, better than the kit lens that comes with the Alpha cameras, it focuses faster and never locks up or "freezes" the cameras sensors, its soon to be my main "goto" lens for all around picture taking, it also works with a 2xtelconverter which the sony would not, and with that I will have 200mm zoom, for closeups

    Minolta, that is all that really needs to be said. It is a great go-to lens very light weight and durable. Wonderful image quality compared to other lenses in its price range. Very snappy and responsive lens. If there is any issue I have with it, I think it is a little louder on AF then some other lenses I use, but I don't shoot film...so it doesn't bother me in the least.

    Very good lens for everyday use

    I am not a professional photographer and bought this lens to extend the possibilities of my camera Sony Alpha 290. I'm very happy with the quality of the images; are sharp and the colors very natural. The autofocus is fast and the range 28 to 100mm proved to be perfect for use in everyday life. Moreover, the purchase made on eBay was very good, since the lens is practically new.

    Nice versatile lens

    I like the ease of operation of this lens, the pictures are outstanding. Dislikes are in low light situations focus is jerky at best. All in all a very versatile lens.
