About this product

Product Information

**From the author of the global phenomenon Sapiens** 'Homo Deus will shock you. It will entertain you. Above all, it will make you think in ways you had not thought before.' Daniel Kahneman, author of Thinking Fast, and Slow Yuval Noah Harari, author of the bestselling Sapiens- A Brief History of Humankind, envisions a not-too-distant world in which we face a new set of challenges. In Homo Deus, he examines our future with his trademark blend of science, history, philosophy and every discipline in between. Homo Deus explores the projects, dreams and nightmares that will shape the twenty-first century - from overcoming death to creating artificial life. It asks the fundamental questions- Where do we go from here? And how will we protect this fragile world from our own destructive powers? This is the next stage of evolution. This is Homo Deus. War is obsolete You are more likely to commit suicide than be killed in conflict Famine is disappearing You are at more risk of obesity than starvation Death is just a technical problem Equality is out - but immortality is in What does our future hold?

I think this item (which was one of four bought at the same time as part of a special offer) had to be re-despatched. I told them it didn't arrive with the other books so they made arrangements to get it to me ASAP. They said it would be despatched within 48 hours and it was despatched within 24. I had it on my doorstep in 3 days, in very good condition as described. Very happy with the price and the service, highly recommended seller. Very professional.

    A great addition to Sapiens

I came to Homo Deus a fan of Yuval's amazing tome, Sapiens. As I made my way through the book my appreciation and admiration of Yuval grew and grew. There are plenty of books out there examining the origin of Humankind, but few that take it to the next stage and look where we're heading. Homo Deus does that, not in idle speculation or probabilities, but with ideas based on what we are already seeing in regards to trends in the way we now experience our world and communicate with each other. I'm not going to spoil your discovery of what this book contains, but I will definitely urge you to buy it..

  • Scholarly, compelling and entertaining

The subject matter is very important for an understanding of our past and future. His revision of the more traditional parameters for describing the past of homo sapiens is thought provoking, but he does not seek the false status of an "authority". He writes clearly and with sufficient detail but without swamping the reader with indigestible facts. The reader is able to move on their thinking, but will definitely keep the volumes for regular future reference,

  • Great read

Great value for both books and would definitely recommend these to anyone wanting to learn more about evolution, where humans came from and where we are going.

  • Not a lightweight read but compelling for all that.

Everyone MUST read this important book.
