About this product

Product Information

The Sunday Times top-ten bestseller from the author of The Men Who Stare at Goats The belly laughs come thick and fast - my God, he is funny . . . Ronson's new book is provocative and interesting, and you will, I guarantee, zip merrily through it Observer What if society wasn't fundamentally rational, but was motivated by insanity? This thought sets Jon Ronson on an utterly compelling adventure into the world of madness. Along the way, Jon meets psychopaths, those whose lives have been touched by madness and those whose job it is to diagnose it, including the influential psychologist who developed the Psychopath Test, from whom Jon learns the art of psychopath-spotting. A skill which seemingly reveals that madness could indeed be at the heart of everything . . . Combining Jon Ronson's trademark humour, charm and investigative incision, The Psychopath Test is both entertaining and honest, unearthing dangerous truths and asking serious questions about how we define normality in a world where we are increasingly judged by our maddest edges.

    Fascinating Reading

An amazing read for anyone interested in this subject. Funny and thought provoking at the same time. You may not look at people the same way after reading this book 🙂

  • Don't discount the importance of this book.

This is a tough book to get through, but in the end is highly rewarding. There are portions of it that seem unrelated to the purported subject matter, but it all ties together in the end. My one regret is that it is a segmented, journalistic approach, as opposed to an in-depth dismantling of industry crutches like the DSM (Diagnositc and Statistical Manaul, Text Revision IV). Whether or not you're a fan of the CCHR (Citizens Commission on Human Rights, a.k.a. The Church of Scientology), this book would have been the perfect forum in which to debunk what has been conclusively proven to be little more than pseudo-scientific guesswork, affecting the lives of millions of unsuspecting victims of psychiatry and psychology and their families. That being said, and in an attempt to sound less ...
