    Capitol Collectors Series - Martino, Al (CD 1996)

    I bought this CD specifically for a few of his songs that I liked. (Living A Lie...Spanish Eyes...Mary In The Morning...Love Is Blue...Speak Softly). Those songs were enough for me to warrent the purchase. I haven't listened to the CD often enough to allow some of the other songs to grow on me; that may happen - but there was no immediate connection. For my favorite songs this CD gets a rating of 5, for the balance, a 3.

    ALTHOUGH HE SOUNDS PRETTY GOOD ON MOST OF THESE CUTS, I CANNOT SAY THAT OTHER THAT THE HITS AND FEW 0THERS THAT I FOUND HIM ALL THAT INTERESTING, CERTAINLY NOT COMPARED TO SOME OF THE OTHER MALE VOCALISTS OF THAT ERA LIKE DEAN, FRANK OR NAT KING. GRANTED, I WAS NOT FAMILIAR WITH A LOT OF THE MATERIAL. JUST DID NOT INSPIRE ME FOR REPEAT LISTENING.
