In a nutshell it's one of the must read books of our generation. It boldly goes where no one has gone before if you are a trekky fan. It opens up the issue of toxic shame that we inherit from well meaning but dysfunctional family and societal influences, challenging us to reconnect to our essential selves and free ourselves from our self imposed prisons constructed of other peoples guilt, shame and false expectations. Read this book and breathe in fresh air.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone but especially if you are feeling lost anxious or depressed. It sheds a lot of light on our behaviours and attitudes to ourselves and others. One of the best things I've ever read in realtion to my own problems.
What an incredible book this is. It’s hard to read in places as personally it brings out a lot of emotion in me. If you want to understand yourself better and why your shame has become what it is then this book is for you.
