Small, relatively inexpensive and does what I wanted a Tube Screamer (TS) to do. I can't compare this to a full-sized TS because I've never owned one, but in terms of being able to get a sound I like, it definitely made me happy. As others have noted, it's particularly good at low- or no-gain settings as a boost pedal with more dirt than, say, a Mesa Tone Burst (which is designed primarily as clean boost). You can get a little nastier with the TS as well for a gritty, bluesy sound with good results, but you won't be able to dial in metal with this pedal alone. The smaller size is also great for obvious reasons but precludes use of a battery to power it, so the only possible drawback is that you *must* use AC power.

Great tone! Excellent condition! Mini size I wanted! Fits my mini pedalboard perfectly that I use for my rehearsals. Will probably order another one for my larger pedalboard that I use for my gigs.

The seller took a little longer to get the product to me than originally anticipated, but it was right around Thanksgiving when I ordered it. The Mini Tube Screamer was indicated to be a used/open box item, but from all appearances it was a new one. I have it plugged into my pedalboard right now and use it on a weekly basis. I love it and would buy from Openbox again.

I had Japan made re-issue TS9 and was not happy with its sound. Old TS9 just made my sound flat and lifeless. But different story with this mini TS. It is x100 better. It has brighter sound and less gain than TS9 but this gain is much useful. Works great as booster for tightening drive channel and with clean channel. Tru-bypass and totally Japan quality!

I have one of these sandwiched in between my TS9 Tube Screamer and my compression sustainer on my signal chain. I set it to a lower gain than I set my TS9 as I feel like the TS9 is a little rounder when the gain settings are higher. So I use the Mini for some added crunch when I am playing chords and the TS9 for heavier riffs and some mild lead. When I really want to push that creamy, smooth, velvety overdriven distortion reminiscent of a Trey Anastasio kind of a tone, I play them stacked on top of each other. They fill in the gaps in the wavelengths for each other and really gives that full, milky feel. My understanding is that the Mini has a circuit more similar to the TS808, and in unison with the TS9, I get the sound I am looking for. The price is great. The footprint is small. And the tone is what you would expect of ANY Tube Screamer, regardless of model. So, if you are a beginner looking for that Tube Screamer tone, but don't want to drop that $175 on a TS808, or you are a professional gigging musician looking to make you pedal board a little more manageable, this little stomp box will work for you. Can't go wrong with this pedal. Read full review

Has pretty great tone, and I bought it considering it to replace my larger Lovepedal OD11, but it isn't up to the task. The OD11 is a thing of wonder. Also if you didn't know, the Tube Screamer does not also function as a clean boost such as a Bluesdriver will-

This little pedal does one thing for me - adds a tone that can't be duplicated by any other pedal! I run a Peavey 6505 for band and Blackstar Metal combo for home practice. I've owned Fulltone OCD, Boss Booster, MXR Fulltone Metal in search of "Professional Metal Lead Tone" I use the Amp's distortion as my main tone and an overdrive when it's time for a solo. Most "overdrive" pedals I've owned either added to much or did change enough. This Ibanez pedal adds just enough to my already over driven, over distorted sound. I now understand why it's been a leader in this category, my search is over.

This thing is amazing! It’s literally a baby sized TS-9. After this purchase all of my solid state amps breathed a sigh of relief as they were taken off the for sale list. And my Kustom 72 coupe can be enjoyed without being cranked to 11. Top freaking notch pedal!

I've been switching my pedals to miniature ones. I had a BOSS Super OverDrive SD-1 which I loved to bits. I read that it was based on the Tube Screamer circuit, so I looked into this as a smaller alternative, and it's replaced it beautifully. I mostly play humbuckers through a tube amp. I play grunge pop - quiet verse, loud chorus type of thing. I use the amp's natural overdirve for my regular tone, and this to make the choruses nicely louder and dirtier. Can't fault it!

I have limited space on my pedal board and a genuine TS in mini format is a blessing! Try a Tom Thorne trick: turn the gain all the way down to 0,, tone to 11:00 and volume full up. That's where SRV lives.
