It's a good lens, but…
The lens is fairly well made, I wouldn't call it professional construction by any means. It is plasticky however it's very lightweight and on a scale of 1 to 10 of durability I would give it a six. The images are sharp from f4 to f8.0, as in very sharp and very detailed at this aperture range. It is very soft at f2.8, but very usable. The autofocus is a 6 1/2 out of 10. I don't know how much that is a product of the lens or the camera. As far as value I would give it a four out of 10. To pay $700 for a lens of this construction quality and material contrasted by what 150 mm Hasselblad lens would cost it's overpriced. Very light and nice lens
150mm f2.8 Pentax-AF, very nice and light weight lens for Pentax 645N and alike autofocus cameras. Perfect for portraits. Switch from AF to manual is fast and intuitive, you do it by pulling the focusing ring towards you. For what it is, this lens is expensive. It feels cheap and plasticy. I would not pay more than 500 euros, freight, tax and import charges exluded. Huge lens hood is fragile, I broke mine and do not know how it happend. Perhaps plastic is a little brittle by now. Great lens
Great auto focus that is really helpful with shooting wide open. A bit heavy, but over my shoulder, I don't mind carrying it for hours. A bit pricy but it's my only film camera with auto focus.
