Item is as described but I had to reach out to the seller a week after the listing ended to ask them to ship it. They said there was some weather issues with getting it shipped and ended up shipping it 2 days after I reached out. I appreciate the item, but some communication or faster shipping would be helpful so I don’t have to stay on top of it like I did.

  • Mickey's Game Gear Debut

Castle of Illusion is one of the earlier releases for the Game Gear and is an exact clone of the Sega Genesis version. The graphics are OK and the music is decent too. The only drawback is that Mickey is way too small. This improves in Land of Illusion and is even better in Legend of Illusion(see my review). In this adventure, you have to save Minnie from the evil witch, Mizrabel. You will explore various levels including Mizrabel's castle. This game will be enjoyed by people of all ages. If you have it for Genesis, you should get it for Game Gear too. It is reasonably priced, so you shouldn't have a problem finding it. I bought several copies(cartidge only, cartridge and manual, and box and cartridge) at great prices. If you don't have this, be sure to add it to your Game ...

  • A seriously underrated game

As precise67 mentioned, the game looks smallish in the Game Gear. The reason for that is that this game wasn't optimized at all for the Game Gear. It actually runs in Master System compatibility mode, which is why some color blur a little bit (the two systems didn't share the exact horizontal resolution). That said, you easily get used to it, and, if you like platform games with a decent story line and progression, this game ought be in the top 10 of any such listing for the Game Gear. The enemies are very charming, and there is a lot of variety to the game: you can even select which level to go next out of a few doors, and they all vary a lot. The game also forces you to use your brain with some minor puzzles (like block placement), which makes it especially indicated for ...
