Poor finish poor quality if I saw it in a shop I wouldn't buy it especially at the price. Picture shown makes it look bigger although measurements are as stated so check your requirements. Best thing about it is its easy to put together. Packaging was also damaged.

Very good design (foxes and cats can't get at the food), easy to put together once you've worked out which way round everything goes - do not start putting it together until you've done this! Instructions don't include fitting the opening flap, but you can work it out by hole location and leftover fittings! Needs a tiny Phillips screwdriver for the hinges. I checked, and this isn't weatherproofed, so you'll have to do it yourself, which apparently will void the guarantee. Rather bizarre for something designed for outdoor use! There are aso small gaps between some of the wood panels, but you can get non toxic wood filler if you're so inclined, and/or hope a hog will hibernate in it. Reasonable size, softwood hedgehog house
HH house arrived flat packed. Assembly instructions were limited to pictures and arrows - no text. There were more screws than required - useful. Used an electric screwdriver which was relatively easy into the soft wood. The lid came with the hinges already attached to the roof section. The lid had felting already applied. Unfortunately the entry hole in the internal dividing wall (labelled part 'I') was much too small for a hedgehog to pass through so a section of wood had to be cut out to make it bigger. Easily done with a hacksaw. Overall the house assembled well and looked OK. Didn't use part 'C' - the entrance flap as it wasn't needed. There were 2 plastic washers to aid movement of the flap. Easy to assemble, robust and practical
I bought this to use as a feeding station for hedgehogs and they finally found it after 2 or 3 weeks. It's very nicely made using high quality materials and compared with the very high prices of competing products, good value. The design is good too, just one comment, I think I will raise it up a little as when the hedgehogs spill the water and / or wee, there is a risk of damp rotting the wood.I bought this to use as a feeding station for hedgehogs and they finally found it after 2 or 3 weeks. Will not fit hedgehogs and will not last outdoors
The doorway measures 10cm x 9cm, the British Hedgehog Preservation Society will tell you that a hedgehog requires a gap of 13cm x 13cm especially in the Autumn when they have put on weight and are looking for somewhere to hibernate. The passageway is then obviously 10cm wide as it follows on from the door. They then come to the internal gap which they would need to turn in the small passageway to get through. This measures 7.5cm x 8cm which even if the hedgehog could turn in the tight passageway is far too small. I have messaged the company and sent photos and they have said my product is not faulty these are the measurements of the product. I have explained that this is not suitable for a hedgehog and if I had a hedgehog using this in Autumn/Winter I would be getting in touch with a ... I have explained that this is not suitable for a hedgehog and if I had a hedgehog using this in Autumn/Winter I would be getting in touch with a rescue centre about that hedgehog and they have no intention of altering either the product or the animals they are saying it is suitable for. This product is only suitable for rats, hamsters, mice etc in my opinion. The product arrives flat pack. In some descriptions it says that the grey material on the top is a waterproof polyester, it is not it is a very very thin fleece type material which will just absorb dew, rain, damp and rot the box even quicker. The box is extremely thin, cheap soft wood which will easily split when you put the screws in if you are not careful. Obviously as soon as this wood goes outside it will begin to rot. You will need to find something to raise it off of the ground so that the bottom doesn’t rot even quicker. The instructions do not cover how to put the door flap on as it is not possible to do so, however it will be hard enough for a hedgehog to attempt entry as it is so you definitely do not want to use the door flap. Might I suggest putting the door flap in your wood scraps pile shortly followed by the rest of the box. I have since purchased a handmade shelter which is miles apart from this and the moment it arrived I ordered another. Please do not waste your time or money ordering this for hedgehogs as it is just not suitable for them

Poor Hog House
In my opinion this is not a good buy. The alleged waterproof cover looks very flimsy. The apertures are well below the recommended 5" X 5" and would be difficult for some of the adults I have seen to pass through. I believe the base should be raised from the floor by treated wood bars to keep it dry and to reduce its contact area thus reducing heat loss. Care is needed not to split the wood used when assembling and the instructions are a little blurred. I did not return the item, I like a challenge, I hope the adult hog I am due to collect from the local animal hospital finds it suitable to hibernate the rest of the winter in.
