Recently I purchased a reminder of my childhood. The Spider-Man: The '67 Classic DVD Collection. In ordering this I was hoping for a quality picture and sound to help me relive the fun of racing home from school to see what Peter was up to next. Well upon recieving the collection I was impressed by the slipcover and unique fan design of the individual DVD holders, each DVD has a resting place on it's own seperate molded page. Many other similar collection I have purchased jammed as many DVD's into a small case to save on cost, but I personally like this type of storage better. Now onto the picture and sound quality, I was amazed at the restoration that they performed in this case, previously I have purchased the 50's Superman cartoons and some of those remastered versions are horrid. Whomever they used to recreate these Spidey cartoons did a superb job on all aspects. I have been sharing this collection of my youth with my children they just love the old theme song and the cartoons appeal to them as well. I sometimes catch my daughter waving back at Spidey when he swing towards the screen and waves, to me that smile and wave from my daughter make this a priceless collection to own. As for the avid comic/cartoon collector this is a great set of cartoons, wonderfully reproduced, the cover art on the slipcover and individual DVD's are a great representation of the series as a whole. Let's face it of all the Spider-Man cartoons ever done this is the flagship, the measuring stick for all that came after.......... and in all aspects it measures up!!Read full review
My cousin Erik and I were born in '68 we both turn 40 this year. We grew up on comic books and Saturday morning cartoons. He was a Spider-Man nut and I was an X-men nut. I often help babysit his 4 year old son who has genetically inherited an obsession for Spider-Man. Ryan has never seen one of the old cartoons or heard the jingle "Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can...", so I wondered if I could rent the old cartoons at Blockbuster. No luck. Then I thought of acquiring some from comic shops. No luck there either. Then the next day (massive 'DUH') it occurred to me to check Ebay. I found the '67 Collection - a gorgeous six DVD boxed set with every Spider-Man cartoon ever made! (62 of them I think?) Bingo - I had inadvertently found the PERFECT gift for the Dad's upcoming 40th. His birthday was April 3 and he flipped. Haven't yet heard Ryan's reaction but I know it will be ecstatic. Thanks Ebay. -Glenn Jones, San Jose, CA (Lechedecabra)Read full review
OK, OK, so I'm old enough to remember these cartoons when they first came out! But you know what? Now is the time to buy this DVD collection, because unlike the VHS tapes of old, you can find what episode you want and when you want it easily!! So this 1960's cartoon with limited animation isn't as 'good' as today's cartoons... well it is actually more than nostalgia that causes people to buy this DVD! The cartoons are actually good!! Enjoy! 'Nuff Said !! Michael
When I bought this set of Spider-Man DVDs it was primarily because of how much I loved the cartoon series as a child. Brought back great memories of eagerly waiting for it to come on after school. I still love this cartoon! For those who are under 25 I'm not sure how much it would be appreciated. All of Spider-Man's powers, especially his "spider sense", are inconsistently demonstrated and are far less impressive than in any of the subsequent Spider-Man cartoon series over the years. This might be annoying or frustrating to some. Still, I highly recommend these DVDs for anyone who loved the series as a kid, is a big fan of Spider-Man, collectors of superhero cartoons, and those who have children under 10 years of age. While it's possible that others would enjoy the series as well, I think that the type of action and realism in contemporary superhero cartoons may cause modern cartoon lovers to see this incarnation of Spider-Man as "cheesy". But remember: cheesy can still be fun!Read full review
I became interested in the Spider-Man DVD Collection when I heard my two (2) year old grandson singing the "Spider-Man" song. I work with a gentleman who is a serious "Super Hero" toy collector and after telling him about Roan's interest in Spider-Man he recommended the 2004 DVD Collection. After purchasing the set I am very impressed with the quality and the great lessons children can learn from it. Good versus Evil told in a way that even small children can understand is the thing I like best. I would recommend this set to anyone with small children. This was another perfect transaction thru EBAY that would be hard to beat anywhere. THANKS EBAY, JG

This collection is so wonderful. We searched for a spiderman cartoon that would be appropriate for our 4 year old and found this. He loves it and we don't have to worry that there will be inappropriate language or sexual content like the new spiderman cartoons. Which are not for young children. The new ones are for teens and adults. We are so happy with this purchase. Truly a classic!!
Spider Man is one of my favorite heroes. That's why I had to purchase this dvd set. It was an expensive price, but I think it was well worth it. I aways found Spider Man attractive, I guess because his costume and mask make him look quite heroic. In the show, he was more treated like an outcast, unappreciated for his good deed, which I don't approve of. Another than that, it's a great show. I have no complaints and I would call this set a must have for Spider Man fans.
Kind of a bummer that this set is so expensive nowadays. Can’t wait for it to be released digitally! Fingers crossed! Having said that, I have no regrets getting this! If you’re a Spidey fan, this is for you!
