Cool Watch but hard to use some of the features!
Very cool watch. Blacked out be really easy to read during the day. Like all G-shocks the button to turn on the light at night is almost unusable and for some reason the reset on the stop watch is the button that is extra recessed so it can't be easily used to reset the time. I wish they would have used the light button or just hold down the stop and start button but then this is a known issue and something you just have to get over or not use the stop watch. Very cool watch. Blacked out be really easy to read during the day. Don't Like the Black Display
Hated the display and it picked up over 5 seconds a day. I reset it several times and it was always off the next day and within a week it was about 1/2 a minute fast. I have several Casio watches and they are all good to within a few seconds for weeks. It was a striking G-Shock with the blacked out face and bezel but not being able to read it was a real problem. The black display was the real killer for me. Outdoors it was tolerable but even with the backlight indoors it was a pain to try to read.Hated the display and it picked up over 5 seconds a day. Great everyday watch.
Good value g-shock square equipped with basic functions. Negative display takes getting used to, but combined with overall blackout features gives the watch a cool and tactical appearance. Lightweight and much more comfortable to wear for long periods compared with mechanical wrist watches.

This is my first G shock watch. I was looking for an old school simple but reliable digital watch and this seems to be the standard model but in black on black. I thought it would be more hefty but I have nothing to compare it to. $50 price is kinda steep but only time will tell. Ive had other more expensive watches that would break due to my rough use so if this works for more than a year w/o issues then its well worth it. I would buy this as a gift w/o hesitation. Its hard to read w/o good lighting, but thats what the back light button is for. I like the way it looks the more I look at it on my wrist. Plan on ordering more to give away as gifts.
