      Modern appearance with useful features

      The sensor is easy to wire up and has outlets for 2 cables, although I used a single 4 core. For reasons of sealing, there is not much scope for adjusting the mounting screw positions so, if you are a perfectionist, you will have to be accurate with drilling the mounting surface. I was drilling into very hard bricks which made this difficult, resulting in a box that was not quite vertical. The lid, when unscrewed, is held to the box by a thin nylon cord. This could be useful if you are up a ladder to stop the lid being dropped but I found the cord broke very easily. This is only a very minor point though. The time control is a switch with discrete time settings. The plus side of this is you know exactly what time you have selected, the downside would be you can't select anything in ...

      Working well

      It is a replacement for another make that has been working for six years so far so good, The only problem I had was having to take the cover off again to set the light level or go out at dusk to push the button on the side as it sited in an difficult position.

      The best dawn to dusk sensor

      Well designed. Can enter from back of unit and sits flush in wall and much better quality than others. The best feature is that these has a 2,4,8 hour setting which makes so much easier to control than other brands. Pay the extra and get the better product

      Automatic light control

      This unit performs very well. Being able to adjust the sensitivity of the light switch-on level is really good. I’m using it with a time clock so cannot comment upon the inbuilt timer function, but have no reason to doubt its performance. Ideal for display garden lights when they want to switch on before it gets dark to maximise effect.

      Neat little photocell switch

      Easy to fit although the retaining cord is weak and will probably break on you. Cut it before you start. Wiring is a bit fiddly as you can't see the terminal ports, only the screws, but you'll manage. What I wanted to say here is that this unit does work as a full dusk to dawn sensor (D-D) as well as turning off after 2, 4 or 8 hours if that is how you want to set it. Working well with a 5W LED porch light. Can't comment on durability.
