Oxford Diecast 76FCG002 Ford Cargo 7.5 Tonne Rigid Truck Plain White OO Scale
This really is a delightful model which has the 'workhorse' feel about a subject which truly has been one for many. Though plain white with no markings the model is attractive to begin with and Oxford have applied all their usual characteristics and hallmarks to this truck in terms of accuracy / character / detail. I am also in an advantageous position to comment on this particular model as my first job after leaving the Army was driving an identical Ford Cargo to this one for clothing firm Bentwoods which at the time operated from Stakehill Industrial Estate [Oldham] and Leek in Staffordshire. The vehicle could handle some tricky situations and was enjoyable to drive. The Ford Cargo vehicle was a 7.5 tonne based design which in this instance is referred to as the 'Overhang' variant with the extended rear section being around 2 metres longer than the standard Ford Cargo design. It was lightweight and efficient when it first appeared aimed at operators of less efficient and more vintage types such as the Bedford 'Four Tonner' as well known to the British Army which also became a popular 7.5 tonne versatile design of truck. Oxford also produces a Parcel Force liveried Ford Cargo and the Royal Mail version which I have also reviewed on here. The two examples I have are well worth buying and paying up to £25.00 for brand new being 10 / 10s in both cases. Hats Off Oxford Diecast!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
