Works Well, But There Is A Learning Curve

The EHX B9 is a fun effect, but it takes some work to get it to sound well. I was able to get it set enough to use at band practice and my band mates really liked it. I like to use the setting for the Continental Organ for playing 60's oldies. It makes it possible to play some 60's songs that we could not have dreamed of before.

    Wacky B3 Pedal

It does the B3 thing ok and is initially fun to play with. I did however quickly become tired of the sound and sold it. If you really like the sound of a Hammond B3 organ then this pedal will entertain you for a while. Otherwise it's a bit of a one trick pony and should be seen as more of a novelty than a serious pedal. I recommend this pedal if you're interested in having a B3 sound for your guitar but to me it's really more of a novelty item then a serious pedal.

  • The item exceeded my expectation it can produce the sound of several different types of organs.

Actually I play guitar and I wanted to add a fuller sound to my playing and this product gives me that added dimension.

  • Works well. However, of limited use.

I use the pedal in my solo gigs. I play mainly jazz guitar, so I only use the pedal on a couple songs per gig, just to add some variety. It does come as close to replicating an organ sound as can be expected from a guitar. While it has nine different settings, most sound pretty similar. One problem I noticed is when you engage the pedal, it increases the volume of the instrument, so you have to account for that in your arrangement. I find it most useful when you elect to perform the entire song with the pedal engaged so you don't have to deal with the volume spikes in the middle of the song.

  • Great for most things

I bought it for use in church with an acoustic guitar, plugged in you can completely dial out the "wooden" sound, as the signal goes from the pickup straight to the processor. Only negative is that during fast strumming it gets garbled, but that's not what it's really made for. If you hit a chord and hold it, it will sustain at the same volume just like an organ. Lots of fun, neat pedal.

  • The B9

This is an awesome little piece a couple of things... it's best when you run two amps... you'll need a guitar that has more of a high-end tremble sound to get a good response especially in a acoustic or like a Nashville tuning... in electric guitars I find the Gretsch 1960 is fabulous for it... but also Fender strats work well too... in the high tremble setting and it gives great Bass response almost like a sub... the better the amp is the better the sound especially on the low end...

  • Easy to use.

Great for adding an array of organ sounds, awesome for home recording, takes a bit of getting used to in regards to applying pressure when strumming, just like an organ or piano the softer you play the lower the volume becomes, the harder you play the louder the volume becomes. Bought the C9 last week, now I must have the remaining 3 pedals, the B9, Key9 & Mel9.

  • Organ sounds from the fingers on your guitar!

Lots of great settings for this pedal! Very versatile! I had even thought about getting a keyboard to learn to play stuff and now I just do organ parts with my guitar. Finally, something like this was invented! Now, they (EHX) needs to make a piano pedal, not that Key 9, but something that sounds like a piano.

  • EHX C9 Organ Machine Awesome!

The folks at EHX have done it again! I love this box, it's one of the most convincing organ simulators out there. I tried the B9 which was cool but I noticed a high pitch that didn't appeal to me. The C9 sounds much fatter to my ears. When I switch it on the folks in my band turn their heads in surprise! Highly recommended!

  • Much ado about NOTHING!

It doesn't emulate anything. It is it's own beast and one should approach it as such...it is not a good emulation and doesn't take the place of a real keyboard....and it's way too expensive for what it purports to do.
