    MacKenna's Gold dvd

    I love the story of this movie. It has no flaws on the presentation and the disc is in great condition. This is an old movie that still carries a great message. Gold is great but it can bring about hate and greed, sugar coated with avarice.

    Why Not Widescreen?

    Sprawling western adventure with a great cast. Effects are somewhat dated after half a century, but still solid storytelling. And a wonderful score by Quincy Jones. Why this wasn't released in widescreen is beyond me. I bought the 4 film set after, just to have the best presentation.

    Old Favorite

    Good chemistry between Peck and Sharif with an ample assist from a star studded cast. I remember watching this as a young teen kid. Developed an instant crush on the damsel in distress Camila Sparv. Actually that might be why I liked this movie so much.
