Decent product
The screen isn't the best. The monochrome design is not the greatest looking. You can see some electrical traces (i.e. circuit board appearance) in the screen. Modifying some of the settings is not intuitive & requires changing bizarre codes. Example: changing the backlight setting to turn off / timeout required finding a how-to video instead of simply going through the menu. The initial setup took a few extra steps because it seemed that the t-stat had been connected by another user already. However, for $50 it has all been worth it. Works well. The Honeywell app is easy to use & fast. Hooks up to Samsung SmartThings too. Just needed to choose the Honeywell 9000(?) model or some other model name that (again) was not really intuitive. The Honeywell app offers more control though - i.e. You can easily set the weekly schedule and/or put the temperature on a temporary or permanent hold.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Terrible Display
I have been using this thermostat for about 18 months. It controls temperature accurately, both heating and cooling. The remote WiFi has worked flawlessly whether I am in the next room or across the country. In fact, I prefer the remote access app on my Android to working the thermostat itself. The LCD display is the worst I have ever seen. When it is resting it cannot be read, all you can see are the traces on the circuit board backing it. Touch it to activate it - and you have to find a sensitive spot, it may take several touches - and the backlight comes on. Then, if the room is not too bright and you are standing in just the right position, you can read the display well enough to program the thermostat or change the temperature setting. If Honeywell had just spent a couple of more bucks on a decent display this would be a great product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

good 7 day wifi thermostat
Ordered 3 open box thermostats and while all 3 worked as thermostats one would not operate in wifi and was returned. I like the Honeywell wifi app and have used it for my church for about a year. I tried another brand (LUX) for my house but found the wifi app to be less user friendly. The Honeywell screen can be difficult to read but you can do all the programming via the app. Had I paid retail I would not be as satisfied but for the price it was an excellent purchase.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Great, efficient thermostat!
I purchased this thermostat because of it's smart capability. I already had a Honeywell Smart Thermostat downstairs, so I thought why not upgrade my upstairs thermostat. First of all, installation was somewhat easy. Prior to removing my old thermostat, I went to Honeywell's website for a tutorial video which was right on point. If you have any questions concerning the wires, Honeywell also has a site to explain the different wiring setups that you may come across. Be sure to turn off your heating/cooling system at the breaker box prior to performing installation. After installing the thermostat, at first I was a little confused as to how to connect to my Wi-Fi and had to do further research on Honeywell's website. This was the only drawback to the installation since it wasn't cut and dry in the manual (also, the reason I give it 4 stars vs. 5). After connecting to my home network, the rest was a breeze in personalizing the settings. Now I can control my upstairs and downstairs thermostats no matter where I am at in the world as long as I have a Wi-Fi connection.

This was a replacement for a same model thermostat that pooped out. It is a great thermostat, and works great. What is really nice about it is when we are out of town, all we have to do is connect to the thermostat via the internet, and we can make any setting changes we want. Not a nest, but it's a better value!
For the price I paid for this and to know it essentially does the same thing as the much more expensive versions, I couldn't be happier. It synced right up with my Google Assistant and I was able to control it with simple voice commands and use the app on my phone if I don't want to disturb anyone. Setting up the schedule was a breeze as well. I was worrying at first because I didn't see the options for emergency heat like I knew I should however reading a little more in the manual I found where you have to go into the setup and choose the different options that you want that aren't active out of the box.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Good WIFI Thermostat.
We replaced a similar non-WIFI model thermostat from Honeywell and like these very well. The new thermostat was easy to setup (but needed to call honeyewell to get this released from prior customer so it could be accessed from the online web/app). My only complaint is that it forces you to enter a schedule for 4 day parts (wake, leave, return, sleep). Good fit for steam heat and remote connectivity
This is an older model that works very well with steam systems. Some of the newer models do not support steam heat well due to limitations on the options for heating cycles per hour. The Total Comfort app works as needed, although once in a while it doesn't connect. Those events seem to be in the Honeywell cloud and not with the unit's wifi connectivity. . The touch screen works OK but isn't the easiest to see. Some options are quite small and tapping them can be frustrating. The remote app avoids those issues. Setup can be a bit confusing the first time. The secret is to read the instructions and be PATIENT; Some setup steps take a while to complete.
