    Great box set!

    The box set was like brand new and all the DVDs played perfectly. I read the Sharpe novels when I was younger and have recently started reading again now. I wanted to buy the series as I was curious about how it was represented on screen. The truth is I really enjoyed the series and didn't disappoint! Sean Bean does excellently and bearing in mind that the series is pretty old it holds up well due to very good cinematography, scenes, real explosions (not CGI and special effects stuff like nowadays!) and very good music. It is a very companion to anyone who likes the novels and is also interested in the Napoleonic era as there is actually very little in the way of series, film or TV.
