This Nikon D3500 is great for beginners looking for a quality camera. With two lenses and Bluetooth, you are able to take fantastic photos and share them immediately. With the SnapBridge app, your photos are instantly transferred to your phone so you can text, post and share with friends. Excellent tutorials are found on YouTube so you can learn quickly all the features this camera offers. My personal favorite is you can use your phone as a remote to take group photos. As much as I loved my Sony, Im glad I upgraded to the Nikon D3500. I researched many different brands, but I purchased this because of the price, lenses, and Bluetooth. Nikon D3500 Camera for Product Advertisements- Solid Camera with Beginner to Advanced Features
We received the package 2 weeks or so ago; the package was tightly packed- there was no damage to any of the items due to shipping. I primarily purchased this camera to do take pictures of models that I had commissioned painted with my Tru-Color paints. The setup of the camera needed to be a little more robust; but, once I figured out how to put on the "shorty" lens, taking pictures was, literally, a snap. There are several positions on the camera, from fully automatic (that is, I don't have to do anything except point-and-shot,) to fully manual (where I can't just point-and-shoot, I actually have to think about everything I am doing.) The directions also helped me, albeit in a limited way, to understand lighting and what would (seem) to work 'better' for the types of models I am taking pictures of, to highlight my paints. Along with the 55 mm lens, there were telephoto and wide-angle lenses. After a bit of experimentation with these lenses, I did find which lens seemed to work 'best' with which model (color of the paints has a LOT to do with it.) Additionally, there were the UV lens set that came with the camera. I just experimented with these also. While I have a lot to learn about taking good product-related pictures for my print advertising, this camera is quite easy to "play with," decreasing the learning curve I will undertake to get my paints "perfect."Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great for starter or advanced
Great dslr not a full size image sensor but many lenses available ,great photo control in manual or program modes takes great pictures. Real step up from the point and shoot cameras. Best Camera for Value on the Market -- Period!!
This was a steal at the price, and the perfect next Nikon for me. I have always been an avid photographer, but never had the cash to commit to great cameras. This camera has been extensively reviewed on Youtube and tech websites, so I did my research before buying. If you are looking for an entry-level camera body with a FANTASTIC autofocusing kit lens (it has a smooth manual-focus override ring), with multiple modes, Bluetooth transfer capability (albeit slow) to devices, Wifi connection, and a Live View LCD screen mode, look no further. Nikon delivers the perfect frame every time, and always has. The color reproduction is phenomenal. The detail and clarity of sharp images is outstanding. If I had a reason to buy this camera twice, I would. Instead, I am going to spring for the 1.8 aperture 35 mm lens to give myself better low light pics. Get rid of your pocket camera and buy the Nikon D3500!
The Nikon D3500 provided an easy transition from my old pocket point and shoot. Beautiful compact camera that produces amazing clear photographs and loaded with all the bells and whistles. Lots of tutorials on YouTube to help me out of "Auto" and utilize this amazing camera to its fullest extent. The D3500 was recommended to me by a friend, who is also a professional photographer, as the next step from a pocket camera. I got a great deal on a used camera w/lens, battery & charger on ebay at $400. The camera works perfect and is like new. Don't hesitate to buy this camera!

Pictures are appreciated more in much detail.
The colors and level of details are a quality that makes you want to keep looking at your photos. Amazing jump from using any phone camera no matter how advanced your phone may be, it will not beat the amazing quality of this one. Great Value
As digital cameras go the D3500 is, let's face it a beginner's/backup camera but as a camera in that category it's an exceptional value. I normally shoot a D7200 which is also a crop sensor DSLR. Using the same lenses I am amazed at how clear and sharp the photos are. The only real difference I can discern between the images produced by the two is the processing speed.
