I bought this phone for my 71 year old dad, as he wanted a straight forward phone with a big screen and buttons so he wouldn't have to keep changing his glasses to see what he was doing with it. He is very pleased with it as it does exactly what he wants it to do, it has the functions on it he will use and nothing too fancy that he would never use. His hearing is fine at the moment but should he need a hearing aid - its compatible with those too. The flashing light to indicate messages is useful as at a glance he can see if he needs to check messages or not with no messing about. It's very robust as he managed to lose it while driving a tractor in the rain and it bounced off onto the road and survived with only a couple of scratches and once it had dried out it still works perfectly. He also likes the flip style as that way he doesn't keep knocking the buttons while its in his pocket like he did with his last phone. So overall its a good straight forward phone, ideal for those who just want a phone to be a phone for calls and messages and odd extras like alarms and radio that is easy to use and good size buttons and a good size colour screen, without anything too complicated. My Dad is certainly very happy with it.Read full review
bought this phone as i am fed up trying to read the tiny displays on the usual phones - so easy to use - also you can have a decent sound from the phone - clear screens - and a nice soft feel about the casing - it is a wee bit bulky in your pocket but the sensible features like the emergency numbers and the flashing reminder of an incoming message are great - no camera unfortunately but what the heck?
Great phone, exactly as described with fast delivery. Highly recommend 5*

Firstly, you have to appreciate that this phone is for a select market. Designed specifically for people with a disability, it meets many criteria that the more common phone manufacturers simply ignore, and fail to meet. The phone remains stylish, cutting down on any embarrasement to the user, and yet functional enough for every day use. Sits very comfortably in the pocket, and the clam shell design eradicates the need for awkward keylocks, so your pocket never does dialling for you. From new, the phone is not sim-locked, and therefore you can choose your own provider and package to suit. I went out of my way to purchase this model for my Father (82), who suffers from Macular Degeneration and is nearly blind. Following a ticking off from a mobility store assistant, I was made to realise that my Father was adapting to every day life, and feeling his way around the large button key pad. The screen is also large and easy to see, with easy contrasting colours. I am pleased to report, that Dad is getting on with the phone very well despite the fact that he is still not able to see the buttons, or text on the screen, clearly. Perhaps the most exciting feature, as far as our family is concerned, is the one touch emergency text and call function. By holding down a single button, easily located on the back of the phone (the phone still has to be opened/active), the phone will automatically text up to five chosen people in a created emergency list, and then proceed to call each person until one of them answers. (It is advised that you do not use people who have their answer service set up, although the phone only dials for 25 seconds before moving on to the next number on the list. Most modern phones can have the answer machine time set beyond this limit.) There is real peace of mind with this feature as you nearest and dearest get older. If it is the latest technology you are after, forget this phone. There are no applications, no games, no e-mails, and no internet. If your family member needs all of this, I would suggest a laptop and a broadband dongle. The phone does have text functions, but in my Dad's case this is useless, such is the seriousness of his impairment. For those who are just poor sighted the text function may be ok. Finally, having never had a mobile phone before, I am pleased to say that he has been able to operate this phone with ease, and better still, I am yet to find him without it stashed in his pocket, which is good news. The older generation can sometimes be extraordinarilly stubborn when it comes to call buttons around the neck, and other such devices. Often they fail to see the peace of mind that such a device can offer to their children, and hang on with grim determination to their last threads of independance. The Doro 410gsm Easyphone offers a simple, up to date, stylish and most importantly, useable solution to this otherwise agonising problem, and they don't lose any street cred. Afterall, we all use mobiles nowadays.Read full review
Not everyone needs or wants a phone which provides all the bells and whistles now possible. For some people, a simple make-a-call phone is all they need. No-nonsense, easy-to-see display, good large finger-friendly keys and no complex navigation around a multi-paged menu system to do the simplest task. This Doro phone provides the ideal solution. It still looks smart and modern, has a great soft rubbery texture making it easy to hold and does everything a PHONE should. For once a simple, unclutttered product, does what it says on the tin!
